Erwin Sosa |
My name is Erwin Sosa and I am a 3D modeler for content in games as well as content for the construction field. I obtained an Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design and a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Entertainment and Game Design in 2008 from ITT Technical Institute. I also took anatomy drawing classes at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Los Angeles, CA. I am most proficient with Maya, 3DS Max, and Photoshop and have been using all three to design my models.
I have experience designing buildings and homes for the construction field using all programs mentioned above. I chose to model characters and content for the games because it gives me more freedom to design things that are fun and enjoyable as well as more challenging. On my final project for school I had to make a video game with a group of students. On that I worked as the concept artist, modeler, texture artist, rigger, animator, and editor. I learned how to work within a group and to meet deadlines to finish the project on time. I have been a gamer ever since Super Mario came out and still continue to play games when I have the chance. I have a collection of about 85 games and own six gaming systems, which include a Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Xbox, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3. I read gaming magazines and have been collecting them since I was a child; I use them now to look back for reference, new ideas, and to see how games have changed over time. I understand that this industry is growing and will only get bigger and better, pushing new boundaries and is why I want to work in the industry. |
